Conservative automated estimate based on Cassidy’s manual approach used for “Over One Million Active Users, and Growing” and “2 Billion Downloads & Other Milestones from 2024 So Far”. Derived from the number of updates to the FreeDesktop SDK platform served by Flathub during the first 28 days of each patch release.
Active users over time
Each point is a count of the FreeDesktop SDK platform updates to that branch’s patch release delivered by Flathub in its first 28 days; patch release lifecycles less than 28 days are omitted. Since multiple branches of the FreeDesktop SDK are actively used by different apps at the same time, summing them would potentially over-count users; instead, estimated active users is based on the highest peak of updates from the past six months.
